Buying / Selling Now vs. Later

While February isn’t usually the month many people choose to list their home, consider buying a home, or both, it might be something to consider this year.

If you are considering selling your home, the Missoula area real estate market currently has low inventory.  The people that need to purchase a home sooner, rather than later, are picking homes amongst a much smaller pool than they will be in the spring and summer months.  And while many sellers want to have their yards and flowers looking top-notch for showings, it might be worth weighing the pluses and minuses of waiting.

If you are considering buying a home, and can find a home that you like and want, the benefits to locking into an interest rate now are definitely valuable.  Also, the sooner you get into a home, the sooner the appreciation on that home will start.  According to some economists, homes are projected to appreciate 4% by the end of 2015.  This blog at KeepingMattersCurrent.com is very eye opening in this regard: Click Here.  It shows the “cost of waiting” with regard to buying the same house now vs. the end of the year (if predictions are correct).
