Missoula Real Estate and Missoula 3D

Current technology has allowed for all sorts of developments in the 3D and interactive world.  It seems like Google Earth and Google Street View are tools that I can hardly remember doing without, but in reality haven’t been around that long.

In an effort to try to bring some of this technology to the forefront with viewing homes, buildings and really just spaces in general, Missoula3D is available for creating these models.

It is easy to see the benefit of having a fully-functioning 3D model that creates the floorplan of the home (able to be moved and spun to see all sides) and also creates the ability to virtually walk-through the home, as if you were walking down the street in Google Street View.   You can also tilt up and down, as well as go up and down stairs, etc.  Essentially, you can walk-through anything in the home that was photographed.  Click HERE for an example.

In addition to the 3D model, this process actually measures distances.  So, for example, let’s say that a 3D model was done on a home and someone was trying to imagine how long a certain wall was.  Maybe they have a specific piece of furniture they want to know if they can fit, or maybe there are talks of a remodel in the future.  Regardless, the measurements can be pulled (accurate to within 1 inch) from the model.

The uses for this feature are great as well.  As I mentioned, let’s just say that someone is considering a remodel on an existing home.  Wouldn’t it be valuable to have a scan of a home that they could take to an architect and explain what they wanted to do? On top of that, an architect could technically pull the measurements into their program to start the plans, rather than delaying the process so that all measurements can be taken from the actual home.  This would also allow a customer to potentially “bid out” the remodel to a number of different architects, without paying for the architects’ time of coming to measure the home.

The possibilities with this technology are endless, and I can think of a new application for this almost daily.  As part of the package at Inhabit Missoula, any home that we list will include a complimentary scan of the home.   We will use this scan to market the property so that potential clients can virtually walk-through the property 24 hours a day, thereby opening the door to showings to people who aren’t even currently in Missoula!

We would love the chance to show you how this incredible service can enhance the marketing of your home!
